The fourth phase of our cycle is traditionally our premenstrual phase, where symptoms of PMT can start to affect us. It can also be a time of intense emotions for a woman who is trying to conceive as she waits to see if her period comes or not.
To counteract these symptoms and really focus on destressing ourselves at this time, we focus on stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system and a relaxation/restorative based practice is preferred.
Our progesterone levels are at there peak as we move into this phase, slowing down the functions of smooth muscles within the body, so we can feel slower and more sluggish.
We are keeping the focus of this time very relaxed, very soft, very inward looking as we move into our Yin/Yin phase.
