Hey, I’m Kate! I’ve been practicing yoga for over 10 years and have personally experienced the many benefits of yoga throughout pregnancy, birth, motherhood and the menopause!
I love travelling and one of my highlights was spending a week in a yoga and meditation retreat in Cambodia – total bliss!!
During my pregnancy I attended LushTums Pregnancy Yoga which helped me to prepare for my labour with confidence. I loved it so much that I decided to train with the wonderful Clare Maddalena, Senior Yoga teacher and founder of LushTums, qualifying as a specialised Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga Teacher.
I have since then completed additional training with Sally Parks Yoga and Real Fertile in Yoga for the menstrual cycle (how to adapt our yoga practice and exercise throughout our cycle) and to support those trying to conceive naturally or through IVF.
I am an accredited Menopause Yoga™ and trained with the wonderful Petra Coveney, who created the worlds first menopause specific yoga practice and wellbeing programme after years of research, working with menopause doctors and other experts. It is an evidence based approach that has been tried and tested. Petra is a member of the British and Australian Menopause Societies and a Senior teacher and trainer for the British Wheel Yoga, Yoga Alliance Professionals and Yoga Australia – she is the leading Menopause yoga expert in the UK. I am so grateful for all the knowledge that she has shared with me and all the unique stories that I was able to hear whilst on the menopause yoga teachers training retreat.
Yoga is a journey of self-discovery, bringing together the mind, body and spirit. My classes help to decrease stress and anxiety, release tension, aches and pains, promote restful sleep (I always sleep so much better after a yoga class!) and improve balance, flexibility and strength.
